Taking teams to the high-performance level
The value of teamwork is undeniable: there is really no other structure that can cope properly with the complexity-related challenges and organisations' associated decision making requirements.
However, we never tire of pointing out the costs of developing teams: high-performing teams need a feedback culture that is openly embodied, a mutual dependency in achieving their goals, individual team members who are near-unique contributors etc. etc. – time and resources have to be invested over and over again to develop such teams and maintain their ability to cooperate at a high level team performance curve.
